Our friends and partners at recently provided 125 bikes and helmets for the children and young people that we have welcomed to a new home in Georgia—along with their families—in 2022! 

So far, bikes have been gifted to refugee students in our Youth Futures, New Roots and Early Education programs, with more to be delivered to students in our My New School program as well as young people enrolled in our Connect 2 Success (C2S) program who need a bike to travel between work and GED classes.

We’d also like to thank the students from who kindly spent their Alternative Winter Break helping us distribute bikes to our new neighbors and their families.

Connect 2 Success (C2S), the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Atlanta’s program for out-of-school youth between 16-24 years old, has served 111 clients since its launch in 2016.

In 2022, 51 refugee youth used the Clarkston High School garden—looked after by student participants in ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Atlanta’s New Roots Garden Club—to grow food for household consumption, and 87% of students received harvested food to take home.

The ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Atlanta’s Youth programs served 1,168 total youth from 31 different countries in 2022.

The ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Atlanta’s My New School program enrolled 437 total children and young people enrolled in 40 local schools in 5 metro area school districts in 2022. Each student enrolled is provided a backpack and school supplies.
