On Oct 5, ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡-LA invited children seeking asylum, who it serves in its Case Management for Unaccompanied Minors, and families in its US Resettlement program to a Halloween carnival and bike giveaway at our office in Glendale. The event was conducted in partnership with the Los Angeles chapter of GenR—short for Generation Rescue—a national group of young, influential humanitarians who have joined forces with ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ to help people survive conflict and disaster and rebuild their lives.

More than 40 children, GenR members, and ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ staff celebrated with a Halloween bean bag toss and duck pond, pizza and cotton candy, and even a cupcake and trick-or-treat bag decoration station, in what has become an annual event for refugee and asylum-seeking children getting their first brand new bicycle in their new home. In addition to a bike, kids received a new bike helmet, bike lock, safety vest and a bike-safety tutorial, all provided by GenR members. A special thank as well to for their partnership.
