In December, , or 'The Corp,' hosted their annual philanthropic gala at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington D.C., naming the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Silver Spring as this year’s beneficiary.

Amplifying the importance of refugee resettlement and integration in the DMV region, the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Silver Spring thanks The Corp for creating a space for collaboration that can create lasting impact to foster hope and opportunities for newcomers to Maryland.

The Corp’s support of the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡â€™s mission to empower newcomers in the DMV area does not stop at the Gala. The Corp also collected direct donations and implemented an innovative round-up campaign, which encouraged customers across its campus shops to round up their purchases. As a result, the Corp fundraised over $7,000 in donations, with ongoing campaigns set to extend this impact into the Spring. 

These initiatives are a testament to the generosity and passion of Georgetown students and their commitment to mobilizing around a good cause. 

As The Corp’s CEO, Matt Shin, noted: 

"Supporting refugees is an issue that so many Georgetown students are passionate about, and having the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ provide an avenue to channel that support has been an incredible experience."

Thanks to The Corp, these funds will directly support services that benefit over 2,000 refugees and newcomers in the DMV area to build stable and fulfilling lives. 

From providing housing assistance to facilitating job placements and access to education, these funds empower individuals to find their footing and flourish in their new home.
