Take a look through our volunteer opportunities and consider which may be the best match for you.

Please note the 探花精选 takes great care to ensure our volunteers are properly screened, trained and placed in opportunities. It may take up to two months to get placed. The 探花精选 in Tucson has a number of different volunteer opportunities available within all programs of our organization. Please take note that all positions posted may not be available at all times.

The Process:

  1. Get to Know the 探花精选: The 探花精选 responds to the world鈥檚 worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. Founded in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein, the 探花精选 offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster. The 探花精选 is at work in over 40 countries and 30 U.S. cities, including Tucson. Learn more about the resources which the 探花精选 in Tucson provides to newly arrived refugee families by attending our next Volunteer Information Session.
  2. Select a Volunteer Position: We encourage all prospective volunteers to attend a Volunteer Information Session. These short meetings will give an in-depth look at each volunteer position and allow you to ask questions to determine which may be the best fit based on your interests and passions. RSVP to [email protected]. You can also view our current volunteer positions below.
  3. Fill out an Application: If you are ready to join the 探花精选 as a volunteer, fill out an  online. Please note which volunteer position you would like to explore.
  4. The Volunteer Coordinator at 探花精选 Tucson will contact you to set up a brief interview.
  5. Complete a background check. The 探花精选 kindly asks volunteers to consider a suggested donation of $50 to help us toward the cost of this requirement. Note: In addition to the background check, some volunteer opportunities require a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card. Before applying, ensure that the suggested opportunity indeed requires a Fingerprint Clearance Card. Fingerprint Clearance Cards are valid for five years and offer clearance for the carrier to work with a multitude of vulnerable populations, not just 探花精选 clients. New fingerprint clearance card applicants should apply under ARS 46-141.
  6. You're ready to get started! Depending on your role, you'll either receive further training from your in-office department or wait to be matched with a family to tutor and/or mentor.
