The ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Louisville is looking for interns. Are we the right fit for you?

Who we serve locally

At the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Louisville, we work predominantly with refugees and Cuban-Haitian Entrants, though our clients also include asylees, Special Immigrant Visa holders, and more. Our clients are real people who have fled their homes due to persecution, conflict and war, and/or the impacts of the climate crisis. We provide them with the tools, resources, and support they need on their journey towards self-sufficiency and rebuilding their lives in our community. Support from interns is critical to our delivery of quality services and programs.

Why intern with us?

If you are interested in social work, education, public health, anthropology/sociology, economics, languages, etc., working with ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Louisville's clients will provide an essential learning experience that serves as an extraordinary foundation to careers in these fields. Many of the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡'s staff were interns at one point who found out refugee resettlement and our mission were the perfect fit for them. There are tons of departments and programs to get to know and love. Give us a try!

Internship Basics

We offer a variety of internships (unpaid) across our programs—from education & youth services to refugee case management, to group health & wellness workshops and more—that provide currently-enrolled students and recent graduates with valuable skills and experiences. Requirements vary by position, but the standard commitment for internships is 10-15 hours per week for at least three months for the Fall and Spring semesters, and 20 hours per week for our Summer opportunities. At this time, we are only able to move forward with applicants who reside locally/within a reasonable commute and can commit to in-person internship service.

It's important to note that ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Louisville is not able to provide compensation for its internships right now; we understand that can be a barrier for many potential applicants, but if an unpaid internship could work for you, we encourage you to apply! We can also coordinate with your schools to support university credit for internship hours if that's something they offer. Reach out to [email protected] with any questions or relevant proposals.
