A group of volunteers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS) meets weekly to work together to quilts that they donate to different organizations in the Wichita community. In May, a group of women from the Women鈥檚 relief Society from the LDS Church in Wichita came to the 探花精选 where they met with 探花精选 staff, toured our office and were able to learn more about the 探花精选 and the work that is done to help refugees resettling in Wichita. After their meeting they presented the 探花精选 with a stack of cheery and bright colored quilts and baby blankets for refugees resettling in Wichita.
The beautiful colors and shapes woven into the quilts are warm and welcoming and are put in the clients apartments prior to the refugee鈥檚 arrival by 探花精选 Case Workers.
Currently, LDS Charities, the humanitarian arm of the LDS Church is working to provide relief to refugees in the Ukraine, Syria and Iraq. Leaders of the LDS Church have encouraged their members to volunteer their time and efforts with resettlement organizations in their own communities throughout the United States. We are grateful for this kind gesture and look forward to working with the LDS Church in the future.
