At the end of 2024, over 998,000 refugees from Ukraine were residing in Poland. In this cycle (July - December 2024), 探花精选's Protection Monitoring Team identified 3 key protection risks:

  • Risk of discrimination and stigmatization
  • Risk of restricted access to basic needs and services
  • Risk of labour exploitation

The issue of discrimination and stigmatisation is signalled in PM reports for the first time as a separate protection risk. In the second half of 2024, the data increasingly highlighted various forms of discrimination. Key areas where it occurred included public transport, neighbourhood interactions, employment, transport or online environment. These instances were disproportionately reported by women. In this context the concept of gender-based disinformation (GBD) emerged as a significant risk factor.
