Amman, Jordan, April 4, 2025 — Zoe Daniels, ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡'s Country Director for the occupied Palestinian territory, says,
“We are deeply concerned by Israel’s recent orders for mass evacuations in Rafah and the potential for an intensification of hostilities in Gaza.
“In just the past two weeks, more than have been forced to flee their homes and over have been killed as result of renewed military operations.
"For over a month, life-saving humanitarian aid has been prevented from entering Gaza. Critical supplies of food and medicine are now rapidly running out. Reports of food rotting in trucks and life-saving medicines expiring as they wait to enter the strip continue to lay bare the devastating human consequences of this policy. Doctors report malnutrition rates are once again rising.
“̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ staff on the ground are witnessing the crisis unfold in real time. They are receiving near-daily evacuation alerts as hostilities escalate to levels not seen since before the ceasefire. This, alongside food prices soaring and basic goods disappearing from shelves, is making delivery of humanitarian services incredibly challenging.
"The ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ calls on all parties to the conflict, and all actors with influence, to ensure that unfettered humanitarian access is immediately granted and that the ceasefire is reinstated to prevent further loss of life."
