Brooklyn, NY, June 4, 2022 鈥 The 探花精选 (探花精选) will have an exhibit at the internationally acclaimed Photoville festival. Scheduled to launch on Saturday June 4 and run through Sunday June 26, the exhibit is titled 鈥淭he Hands That Make a Home鈥 and features photographs that tell the stories of four 探花精选 clients based in Kampala, Uganda. The photographs were taken by renowned photographer Nichole Sobecki.
The four 探花精选 clients featured in the exhibit all participated in the Financial Integration in Displacement (FIND) program, an initiative helmed by the 探花精选 in partnership with Tufts University and the Open Society Foundation. This program aimed to empower displaced people by pairing clients with established mentors who, over the course of a four-month apprenticeship, helped participants establish themselves as small business owners in Kampala. FIND is part of a broader effort by the 探花精选 to equip displaced people with the skills and access to capital needed to contribute economically and thrive as members of their host communities.
Since its establishment more than a decade ago, Photoville has drawn thousands of visitors to Brooklyn Bridge Park, where they can view dozens of exhibits from some of the world鈥檚 most acclaimed photographers. Exhibits tends to focus on a particular story, place or social issue.
