January 18, 2024 — This morning, at approximately 6am, the compound in Gaza housing staff members of the Emergency Medical Team from the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ (̽»¨¾«Ñ¡) and Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) was severely damaged as a result of a missile strike. A number of team members and the compound’s security guard suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The team have been evacuated to another location inside Gaza and are currently unable to continue their life-saving work at Nasser Hospital. The ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ and MAP are working with the UN to determine what has happened and to ensure the continued safety of our teams and viability of their vital humanitarian work. We re-emphasise our call that humanitarian workers and civilians must be protected at all times from attack. We cannot comment further until details are clarified.
