New York, NY, June 21, 2023 鈥  Today, the 探花精选 (探花精选) is proud to announce its continued partnership with Uber as they commit $1.5 million across three years to provide transportation and delivery services to the 探花精选. This gift will greatly assist the 探花精选's Resettlement, Asylum and Integration team in meeting the humanitarian needs of people affected by conflict.

The new commitment builds on Uber鈥檚 previous support to the 探花精选鈥檚 Ukraine and Afghan resettlement efforts, including ride credit and in-app donations which, together with Uber users, raised over $4,000,000.

Former 探花精选 client, and now Case Manager, Nawid Shaeq shared his personal story about how Uber supported him and his family. Nawid arrived in the US with his parents and 3 siblings in search of religious freedom. His family left Afghanistan in 2008 and moved to India, then were resettled in the US through the 探花精选 in 2021.

鈥淚 still remember the night that we arrived in Tucson, Arizona, and our Case Manager came to greet us with a big smile on her face. Our family鈥檚 journey began with Uber from the very first night when soon after leaving the terminal, we realized that there was not enough seating in one car,鈥 he said. Their 探花精选 Case Manager assured Nawid that they wouldn鈥檛 have to worry about transportation during this transitional time in their lives and that they could use Uber to reach their apartment units.

鈥淯ber played a very pivotal role in our resettlement process. Transporting us to our medical appointments, social security office, and all the other appointments that we had,鈥 Nawid shared. 鈥淣ow that I work at the 探花精选 as a Case Manager, I truly value and appreciate the Uber services that we have for our clients. Most of the time, we welcome large families鈥攁nd getting them to their appointments and around town can be quite challenging. Having Uber credits makes a huge impact in the consistency and the quality of the services that we provide to our clients.鈥

We believe that empowering people鈥搘hether economically, socially, or through greater accessibility in their local communities鈥揷hanges the world for the better. Uber鈥檚 multi-year commitment will continue to support refugees and asylum seekers on their journeys to stability and self-sufficiently as they rebuild their lives in the United States.
