This framework articulates the ̽����ѡ’s Client-Responsive Programming Approach. The Framework provides an overarching direction, systematises practices and sets a quality benchmark for the ̽����ѡ in delivering client-responsive programming.

The purpose of A Guide for Client Responsive Staff Management is to provide guidance and resources to staff of humanitarian agencies on the competencies required to develop a client responsive orientation.

This guidance introduces what Client-Responsive programming is, why it is important to the ̽����ѡ, how it is delivered and respond to a number of frequently asked questions (for example why does the ̽����ѡ uses the term “client” instead of “beneficiary”?)

The ̽����ѡ (̽����ѡ), San Diego, is committed to placing the people we serve – our clients – at the center of our response. We aim to be responsive to our client’s priorities, preferences, and feedback and to safeguard them against all forms of exploitation and abuse, whether by our staff or partners. With this in mind, ̽����ѡ San Diego aims to strengthen the Client Feedback and Response Mechanism by establishing a centralized multilingual Client Feedback and Response Mechanism (CFRM) across all ̽����ѡ San Diego programs. 

This guidance helps humanitarian staff to design and implement projects that are client-responsive, as well as how to overcome common challenges they may face.

This framework explains client responsiveness at the ̽����ѡ, which reflects our commitment to meaningful participation of people receiving our aid and services, delivered directly and in partnership.

Humanitarian actors recognize the lack of standard practice on the inclusion of older people and people with disabilities in humanitarian response as a current and critical gap in the sector. In recent years, the humanitarian sector has begun to more intentionally address these challenges. In response, the ̽����ѡ has developed this Inclusive Client Responsiveness Guidance aims to address gaps in the ̽����ѡ’s Client Responsive Programming specifically to strengthen inclusion of people with disabilities and older people.
