It's our favorite time of year! The ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Atlanta’s Youth Futures and New Roots programs are celebrating 10 ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ students graduating from high school in the Class of 2023!

The ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Atlanta’s partnership with the Technology Career Program (TCP) at TechBridge—an Information Technology (IT) training course—has helped more than 20 refugees and immigrants to gain a head start in the rapidly growing technology industry over the past year. One recent TCP graduate, Maiwand—who was evacuated from Afghanistan last fall—has gone above and beyond in his commitment to the program, and shares with us below his journey to rebuilding his life and career here in Atlanta.

Through the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Salt Lake City’s early employment program, Iver, an asylee from Venezuela, found a job in his preferred field as he and his family began their life in the United States.

As the new school year begins, we at the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Atlanta are looking forward to welcoming a new class of brilliant Youth Futures students. But before kicking off a new year of learning, our Youth Futures team said goodbye to 33 accomplished students who all successfully graduated in May!

Nolasque Balitebya began working for the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ as a Swahili interpreter in 2019 shortly after he and his family were resettled in Missoula by the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡. His 'can-do' attitude and eagerness to support newly arriving refugee families stood out to all staff at the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡, and he was promoted to Caseworker in 2021. Now, Nolasque has begun the next step in his ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ journey. In March, Nolasque began serving as a Roving Direct Services Program Manager for ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡'s Reception and Placement (R&P) programs. We sat down with Nolasque to reflect on his journey with the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Missoula and what he is looking forward to next.
