Five years ago, the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ established a gender action plan to create an environment where women are safe and respected. The plan comes from the belief that the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ must be a gender equitable organization to deliver gender equitable programs in the communities it serves. Led by executive director Preethi Nampoothiri, the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Silver Spring sets the bar for empowering female leaders.

With the generous support of Montgomery County’s Department of Health and Human Services, the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Silver Spring provides resettlement services to facilitate the full civic integration of refugees entering the United States who reside in Montgomery County.
