Refugees in Jordan—especially young children—have limited access to education. That's why the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ has trained Syrian refugees to teach them and vulnerable Jordanians how to use play as part of early learning. The program, "Reach Up and Learn," helps children ages six months to 2 1/2 years build their confidence, as well as language skills and other skills they need to thrive.

The ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover and gain control of their future.In 2018, Sesame Workshop and the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ (̽»¨¾«Ñ¡) joined forces to created the Ahlan Simsim initiative to give children affected by conflict and crisis in the Middle East the support they need to learn, grow and thrive.

Actor and activist Mandy Patinkin recently witnessed first­hand the refugee crisis engulfing Europe. Alongside Ì½»¨¾«Ñ¡ aid workers in Greece, he met families who had fled Syria and other war­torn countries in hopes of finding a better life for their children in Europe. “Standing with them, I did not see strangers to be feared but the faces and stories of my own family.
