After 835 days without the resettlement program at the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in San Jose, the office's leadership team received word last month that the location had gotten approval to re-open its resettlement program, effective immediately.

Nolasque Balitebya began working for the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ as a Swahili interpreter in 2019 shortly after he and his family were resettled in Missoula by the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡. His 'can-do' attitude and eagerness to support newly arriving refugee families stood out to all staff at the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡, and he was promoted to Caseworker in 2021. Now, Nolasque has begun the next step in his ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ journey. In March, Nolasque began serving as a Roving Direct Services Program Manager for ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡'s Reception and Placement (R&P) programs. We sat down with Nolasque to reflect on his journey with the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Missoula and what he is looking forward to next.
