Phoenix and America must, day in and day out, live up to the legacy, and the strength, of our “common immigrant heritage.”

The ̽����ѡ in Salt Lake City maintains robust opportunities for local and national organizations to engage meaningfully in our local work and support the efforts of refugee, asylee, and new American families to positively integrate into our community.

In 2022 ̽����ѡ Seattle started a sewing program called New Americans Artisan Collective to promote women’s empowerment through handicrafts. The inaugural class was launched in the fall, comprised entirely of refugee women from Afghanistan. On December 16th, the program proudly celebrated as the first cohort of six women graduated.

Under the umbrella of ̽����ѡ (̽����ѡ) in Salt Lake City’s economic well-being services, the Financial Capabilities program serves refugees and new Americans through one-on-one financial coaching, classes and workshops, and access to resources to become financially independent. 

This is a time for fresh starts, starting over and new beginnings. We here at the ̽����ѡ in Missoula have been fortunate to be with so many families while they experience new beginnings and so many "firsts."

Our Immigration Department strives to ensure equal protection under the law and civic integration of refugees and immigrants, as aspiring new Americans, by assisting them to achieve U.S. citizenship.

Wendy Juarez is the 2022 winner of the New American Dream Lab and owner of Prime Corn! Wendy launched Prime Corn in December 2021 with a focus on plant-based dishes derived from traditional Mexican cuisine.

Nine New Roots gardeners took photos to document the impacts the program has on their lives as part of a participatory action research method, PhotoVoice.
