This mixed-methods study explored the implementation of a multi-sectoral Education in Emergency response in conflict-affected Ethiopia through the PlayMatters Emergency Response Mechanism.

The ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ conducted a multi-sector needs assessment in 2024, covering the sectors of Protection, Health, Education and Economic Wellbeing, to identify key needs to support humanitarian program design in the coming period. Findings show that humanitarian needs are at an all time high, particularly impacted by shifts in the context in 2023, including the earthquake in Turkiye and the highest levels of violence seen across northern Syria since 2020. Millions of individuals continue to be unable to meet their basic needs.

In 2022, the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ (̽»¨¾«Ñ¡), Plan International, and 10 sub-granted international and local partners implemented the PlayMatters Emergency Response Mechanism (PM ERM) program in the Afar, Amhara, Benishangul-Gumuz, and Oromia regions of Ethiopia. These are the results.

The ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ and Relief International carried out a multi-sector assessment to understand the urgent needs of Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. Only the second needs assessment of the Rohingya refugee crisis to be completed, it reveals the scale of the crisis faced by the estimated half a million people arriving in Bangladesh, fleeing conflict in Rakhine State.
