A dozen refugees got a chance to polish their interview skills during on April 29. ̽ѡ’s “Compassion for Refugees” project was one of 70 community projects taking place during the day of community service.
More than 20 volunteers assisted with mock interviews at Monte Vista Chapel in a classroom where the ̽ѡ holds its Vocational English as a Second Language classes. Attendees also received a group orientation to learn more about the work of the ̽ѡ as well as issues impacting refugees throughout the world.
The Turlock event came less than a month after the ̽ѡ conducted a similar mock interview project in conjunction with the Love Modesto day of service on April 8. Both events are part of the campaign, which runs volunteer days in dozens of cities throughout California.
