April is National Volunteer Month and the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ is grateful for our network of over 250 volunteers and interns each year. Last year our volunteers contributed 23,304 hours of labor, the equivalent to over 11 full-time staff members. This month we are featuring an interview with our Logistics and Casework Intern, Keshet Benschikovski, a student at American University’s School of International Service, as she shares why she's proud to work with the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Maryland.

The ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Salt Lake City actively participated in the 2021 Utah Legislative Session providing opportunities for refugees to shape policy outcomes and lead the way in making Utah a more welcoming state for all who live here.

Born and raised in the small city of Voinjama, Liberia, Marcus is the youngest of four children. He was eight years old when the first civil war began in Liberia in 1989. Over 300,000 Liberians were forced to flee and seek refuge in neighboring countries.
