The ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡â€™s US offices offer a variety of unpaid internship opportunities throughout the year. Prospective interns must go through the volunteer process and should be currently enrolled in an educational institution or a recent graduate.

In May, a group of women from the Women’s relief Society from the LDS Church in Wichita came to the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ where they met with ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ staff, toured our office and were able to learn more about the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ and the work that is done to help refugees resettling in Wichita. After their meeting they presented the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ with a stack of cheery and bright colored quilts and baby blankets for refugees resettling in Wichita.

Private donations contribute greatly to the success of the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡'s work. Although we receive state and federal funding for initial resettlement and employment services, the assistance we provide to refugee families beyond their first few months in the U.S. would not be possible without community support.

̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ volunteer Hanat Balimuttajjo has served the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in Turlock/Modesto as a volunteer since September 2018. A native of Uganda who grew up in England, Hanat taught English in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia before coming to the United States in December 2017.
